Ras Al Khaimah

Not the biggest journey or travel from living in Abu Dhabi but after visiting the Rixos Bab Al Bahr in
Ras Al Khaimah last weekend I couldnt not add it to my list!

A 2.5 hour drive from where we live in Abu Dhabi, the drive once you enter the emirate of RAK was
awesome, camels and miles of golden sand made you feel like you were truly in the desert. The
hotel is based on a small island of Ras Al Khaimah, it is a huge hotel and truly breathtaking!

We arrived at the hotel and it was the first week of Ramadan, the holy month of Islam where in the
UAE there is no drinking, eating or smoking allowed during this period until the fasting is broken in
the evenings. Because of this we weren’t exactly sure what the vibe would be at this Ultra All
Inclusive hotel, but they were very relaxed for tourists and people sunbathed with food and drinks
openly throughout the hotel.

The hotel is definitely 5*, we had a family room as we visited with some friends of ours who had
been before and we were all totally impressed with the room and the beautiful sea view it came
with. The restaurants ranged from OK to fine dining and I would personally recommend the
seafood restaurant – but ensure to book early as the restaurants do get booked up!

I would totally recommend this staycation to anyone in the UAE, from families, couples of groups of
friends the Rixos Bab Al Bahr had something for everyone.
